White Marble ReliefMilitary Museum

In the south reception hall of the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Museum, twelve white marble reliefs unfold along the walls, drawing together five thousand years of Chinese military history into a single panorama. Created jointly by leading sculptors and produced under the direction of Gao Yingpo by the Gaodashi Art Group, the ensemble has been described by specialists as another masterpiece after the great reliefs of the Monument to the People's Heroes. It is at once a national landmark of revolutionary culture and the testimony of a carving lineage carried across half a century.
