In the golden autumn season, artistic charm fills the capital. "The Way of

the Great Master — Gao Yingpo Art Exhibition" is grandly on display in Hall 10 of the National Art Museum of China, running until October 7. This exhibition is of extraordinary significance: it is the first time that Quyang stone carving and Ding porcelain art have entered the National Art Museum of China in the form of a solo artist exhibition, achieving a historic appearance of two major intangible cultural heritages on a national-level art stage, and writing a new chapter for traditional crafts moving toward the mainstream vision of high-end sculpture art. This exhibition carefully selects a total of 52 representative masterpieces, including works by Chinese Arts and Crafts Master Gao Yingpo and works created in collaboration with Gao Minglu, the fifth-generation inheritor of Master Gao's craftsmanship. It encompasses two major creative systems, sculpture art and Ding porcelain, with one stone and one porcelain, combining strength and softness, comprehensively presenting his artistic achievements and creative philosophy from years of deep cultivation in the field of dual intangible cultural heritage, bringing the capital in golden autumn an intangible cultural heritage art exhibition that combines Eastern heritage with contemporary aesthetics.

As a core space carrying the display of national-level artistic masterpieces, the National Art Museum of China represents the highest platform for domestic art display. The holding of this Gao Yingpo Art Exhibition is not only authoritative recognition of his personal artistic attainments, academic height, and innovative achievements, but also breaks the inherent cognitive boundaries of traditional crafts, promoting stone carving and Ding porcelain art to formally enter the academic system of high-end sculpture art and contemporary art, with important industry benchmark significance.

As a great country craftsman deeply engaged in dual intangible cultural heritage, Gao Yingpo has always adhered to the creative philosophy of "upholding tradition without being bound by antiquity, innovating without departing from the source." He is rooted in Quyang, the hometown of carving for a thousand years, inheriting the millennium-old craftsmanship of stone carving and the orthodox cultural lineage of Song Dynasty Ding porcelain, and upholding the essence of ancient techniques; at the same time, he steps beyond the creative limitations of traditional crafts, reconstructing modeling language, aesthetic systems, and expressive dimensions with a contemporary artistic vision, allowing traditional crafts to adapt to modern aesthetics and connect with the national-level art stage.

The sculpture works in the exhibition hall use Quyang white marble as their carrier, with steady and delicate knife work, majestic and dignified forms, and a simple and profound spirit, combining the majestic character of northern carving with the artistic tension of contemporary sculpture, possessing both humanistic conception and craftsmanship. The Ding porcelain works are minimalist, elegant, and warm as jade, strictly observing the ancient Ding kiln glaze colors and vessel form regulations, removing complexity and extravagance and returning to authenticity, revitalizing the millennium-old Ding porcelain aesthetics with modern innovative techniques, and realizing the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional craftsmanship.

One stone carries the grandeur of mountains and rivers, one porcelain flows with a millennium-old cultural lineage. The 52 crafted works are both a condensed retrospective of a personal artistic journey and a vivid interpretation of the spirit of great country craftsmen in the new era. This solo exhibition in Hall 10 of the National Art Museum of China is not only a milestone in the artistic careers of Gao Yingpo and Gao Minglu, but also an important window for Quyang's dual intangible cultural heritage to move toward the whole country and dialogue with the times, allowing the millennium-old Yanzhao craftsmanship cultural lineage to radiate new brilliance on a national-level platform.
