Farmer Singer Zhu Zhiwen Visits Hebei Gaodashi Art Group for Exchange and Tour

When the rustic, heartfelt singing of a folk artist meets the craftsmanship of a millennium-old intangible cultural heritage, a beautiful encounter spanning artistic fields arrives as promised! On July 29, 2026, the household-name farmer singer Zhu Zhiwen, known as "Brother Overcoat," walked into the Gao Yingpo Art Museum of Hebei Gaodashi Art Group for a visit and tour, immersing himself in the thousand-year sculptural heritage of Quyang and the unique charm of contemporary Ding porcelain art, appreciating the beauty of intangible cultural heritage together and discussing the inheritance of craftsmanship.

As the first non-state-owned museum in Quyang County, the Gao Yingpo Art Museum has long been an important art hall for inheriting and showcasing Quyang's sculptural intangible cultural heritage. The museum has a total floor area of 5,004 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,050 square meters, with a collection of more than 500 pieces of Quyang stone sculpture, innovative Ding porcelain works, and various cultural and creative fine products, covering diverse categories such as antique-style sculptures, traditional intangible heritage carvings, contemporary innovative sculptures, urban sculpture models, and innovative Ding porcelain relief works, comprehensively displaying the technical heritage of Quyang sculpture's thousand-year transmission and its artistic innovation that keeps pace with the times. This is not only the place where Master Gao Yingpo's four generations of sculptural craftsmanship have accumulated, but also an important platform for the inheritance of intangible heritage skills, artistic exchange, and cultural empowerment.

Facing the exquisite and intricately crafted sculptural works, Zhu Zhiwen listened carefully as the staff gave detailed explanations of the works' creative concepts, carving techniques, and intangible heritage inheritance stories, gaining an in-depth understanding of the unique craft of Quyang stone sculpture—"adapting techniques to the material and carving with meticulous precision"—as well as Master Gao Yingpo's journey of more than thirty years in the industry, upholding his original aspiration for intangible cultural heritage, innovating through the integration of techniques, and dedicating himself to talent cultivation.

In the Ding porcelain art exhibition area, the Ding porcelain works in the hall include both traditional vessel forms that replicate ancient methods, with warm and delicate glaze colors and elegant, simple decorative patterns, perfectly reproducing the classic charm of thousand-year-old Ding porcelain; and innovative Ding porcelain works that integrate modern aesthetics with Quyang carving techniques, cleverly incorporating crafts such as stone sculpture relief and openwork carving into Ding porcelain creation, breaking the boundaries of traditional crafts and combining practicality with artistry. Zhu Zhiwen carefully observed the craft details of Ding porcelain such as glazing, trimming, and carving, and gained a detailed understanding of Ding porcelain's inheritance and evolution from ancient times to the present, its technical characteristics, and the enterprise's many achievements in revitalizing Ding porcelain intangible heritage, craft innovation, and cultural and creative product development. He fully recognized the creative approach of integrating and innovating the intangible heritage techniques of the Great Song Dynasty Ding kiln.

As is well known, Brother Overcoat Zhu Zhiwen is rooted in the countryside, simple and pure, and has always upheld his original artistic heart, conveying the warmth of everyday folk life and sincere feelings through the most genuine singing. This pure perseverance coincides with the sculptors' craftsmanship spirit of "choosing one thing and devoting a lifetime to it." During the visit, he spoke highly of the artistic achievements of Handing Sculpture Group, the collection standards of the Gao Yingpo Art Museum, and the innovative inheritance of intangible heritage techniques. Mr. Zhu Zhiwen's visit this time was a deep encounter between literature and art and craftsmanship, and even more a two-way empowerment between folk art and intangible cultural heritage. In the future, Hebei Handing Group and the Gao Yingpo Art Museum will continue to uphold the essence of craftsmanship, deepen intangible heritage inheritance and artistic innovation, continuously explore the cultural connotations of Quyang sculpture, promote the deep integration of traditional techniques with modern aesthetics and cultural dissemination, and, through more high-quality artistic works and diverse cultural exchange activities, inherit the thousand-year cultural lineage, tell the story of Quyang's intangible cultural heritage well, and bring traditional craftsmanship culture to a broader stage.
