The Way of the Great Master — Gao Yingpo Art Exhibition
6 September saw the opening of The Way of the Great Master — Gao Yingpo Art Exhibition, part of the invitational series on arts and crafts scholarship organised by the National Art Museum of China. The exhibition ran from 6 September to 7 October, thirty-two days in all, spanning the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays. It brought together fifty-two works by Gao Yingpo, joining Quyang stone carving and Ding ware — two national intangible cultural heritage crafts — with his work in bronze: a complete account of an artist's long engagement with traditional technique and with the continuities of Chinese cultural tradition. He is the first artist from Quyang, and to date the only one, to bring both crafts to a solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of China.
